McLean County PONY Baseball has a crew of independent contractors that make up our Sports Turf Management Crew each summer.
To be considered for opportunities, candidates must be at least 16 years old. Information about applying for opportunities for the upcoming season is posted on the MCPB Homepage in late December/early January each year.
Crew shifts are approximately 4 hours and scheduled as follows once school is out:
Weekdays: noon-4:00pm (during the heat of the summer shifts may be 8:00am-noon)
Friday Nights: work after the last game on each field in order to get the fields ready for Saturday morning games
Saturday: no regular shifts scheduled
Sunday: 9:00am to 1:00pm

Dragging fields
Broom/blow grass edges
Lining Infields
Mowing fields (usually an older crew member)
Mowing common areas
Painting grass lines
Mound repair
Home plate repair
Special projects
Other items/projects as needed
