Change Team:
No Practice This Week & Upcoming Game Info
by posted 07/01/2020

Parents - First, I wanted to let you all know how happy I am with the progress our team has made since we started. It is nice to see all of the boys on the baseball field having a great time, building relationships, and improving their skills. I believe they will continue to develop and find success throughout the season.

Practices - A few of you have asked if we will practice now that games have started. I do not plan on having practices throughout the week at this time. I would encourage parents to practice (throwing/pitching, pop-flys, grounders, and hitting) at least every other day, if possible. If anything changes and/or we decide to schedule a practice during the week it will be optional and I will let you all know.

Games - With this weekend being 4th of July, I would like everyone to let me know if your son will be at our games. This will help me when creating lineups. Here are a couple of notes regarding our upcoming games.

  • Friday vs Rockies @ 5:30pm
    • We will be the Home team and will use the 3B dugout
    • Please arrive by 5:00pm
    • Optional: The batting cages were booked, but that doesn't always mean people are using them. For those interested in getting extra swings in before the game, I will come 20-30 minutes early and we will grab a cage or find a space to hit weighted/low-flight balls.

  • Sunday vs Diamondbacks @ 7:30pm
    • We will be the Away team and will use the 1B dugout
    • Please arrive by 7pm.
    • Optional: I have the WEST batting cage booked from 6:30-7:00pm for those interested in getting extra swings in before the game.

I think that is it for now. If you have any questions about any of this information, please let me know.

Game Arrival Times & Medical Waivers
by posted 06/26/2020

Parents - As we conclude practices and move into games I would ask that our players be at the field 30 minutes prior to our games dressed and ready to begin warmups. This will ensure they have time to warm up their arms and get stretched out prior to the game. If you have not turned in your medical waiver, please bring it with you to the game as I am required to have one for all players prior to the game.

COVID-19 Pony Complex Rules
by posted 06/24/2020

Parents - please see the COVID-19 Pony complex rules that will be enforced this season. Obviously, it will be difficult to police all of these rules, but we will do our best. I would ask that you please keep these in mind as we approach our games this weekend. Thank you!

COVID-19 Pony Complex Rules

  1. Fan attendance is limited to household members of the players on the team. Fans must bring their own chairs or stand. Fans should keep six feet of social distancing between different household units.
  2. Players and coaches are to be six feet apart.
  3. Use of dugouts is permitted during games only. Only 3-4 social-distanced kids in a dugout at a time, the rest must spread down the fence lines. Players should also have designated spots to place their personal items.
  4. The team to play next must remain in the warm up area until the prior team is completely out of the dugout.
  5. Fans for upcoming games must not enter player areas, and must keep six-feet or more distance from the backstop.
  6. No spitting or eating seeds, gum, or other similar products.
  7. Players should use their own gloves, helmets, and bats as much as possible.
  8. Shared equipment must be sanitized before and after each game.
  9. No touch rule - players should refrain from high fives, handshake lines, and other physical contact with teammates, opposing players, coaches, umpires, and fans. A "tip of the cap" can be used following the game in lieu of the handshake line.
  10. No post-game talks at the field are permitted. Fans and players must leave the playing area and return to their cars immediately after the game.

Practice Reminder, Uniform Info, & COVID-19 Info
by posted 06/23/2020

Parents - a few quick updates.

Practice - reminder that we will be having practice tonight and Thursday from 6:30-8:00pm. I would like to go through simulated game situations and have the kids pitch to one another. This is likely what we will focus on the next two practices to get them ready for games. We will use catchers and players may end up sliding as we will be practicing stealing so let's plan on having players wear baseball pants this week. If anything changes, I will let everyone know.

Uniforms - I have been informed that uniforms will likely be ready by Wednesday or Thursday. Due to Covid-19, Pony was not able to order individual sizes for teams that were put together last minute so we will do our best to make sure your son gets a jersey that fits. The plan will be to line up the players from smallest to largest and hand out the jerseys.. Uniforms will come with a shirt, hat, and socks. If you still need to purchase pants, let's go with white. If you already have pants that are a different color, that is fine! Same with the belt, color doesn't matter.

COVID-19 - Pony has posted complex rules for COVID-19; however, I believe there may be changes coming based on Illiniois potentially moving to the Phase 4 of the recovery plan. I have included a link below to that information, but will let you know if/when additional information becomes available.

Thank you, and see you all tonight.
